For special applications where a longer duration self-contained respiratory protection is required the maximum duration which can be provided by a compressed air SCBA may be insufficient. For such applications Dräger is able to provide the fire fighter with the BG 4 closed circuit breathing apparatus which provides durations of up to 4 hours. Fires or accidents in tunnels or long underground passages are typical cases where due to the long access and escape routes fire fighting and rescue operations require the use of a long duration closed circuit breathing apparatus.
